How we do it >> Engineering Excellence
Our latest system "The Nova" system camera channel is based around a range of shutterless digital cameras offering 2, 4, 11 and 16 Megapixel resolution and a range of frame rates from 4 to 30 fps. We combine these cameras with the latest Canon lenses to obtain pin sharp pictures on rides moving at up to 70 mph. Each camera operates through a Timing Control Unit, which ensures we take pictures of every row of seats on a coaster timed to be accurate to the millisecond. With the ability to use "shutter speeds" of up to 1/10,000th sec there is no motion blur and every photo has the rider in the same position time after time.
To make the Nova system truly effective we have developed and patented a new generation of high repetition rate flash system. This delivers flash pulses at a rate completely compatible with the camera's frame rate, in a pulse that lasts only 1/10,000th sec and with a power that exceeds any production flash system on the open market. In practice, come rain or shine, the rider is effectively illuminated for every shot, even when the camera and flash have to be positioned substantial distances from the ride.
